Distinguished Service Award
This award may be presented to a member or members in recognition of outstanding service to furthering the goals of Eta Sigma Gamma. It is not necessarily an annual award and can be presented by the National Honor Society (as decided by the Board of Directors) or a collegiate chapter (as determined by the local chapter). An appropriate symbol of this award will be given to the recipient. More Info
Founders’ Award
Each year undergraduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the Founders’ Award through an application process. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which selects a deserving recipient. This individual receives a cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. More Info
Gamman of the Year
Each year undergraduate and graduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the Gamman of the Year Award. This award recognizes outstanding leadership and service to furthering the goals of Eta Sigma Gamma. Individuals must be nominated for the award by their collegiate chapter's Eta Sigma Gamma sponsor, the collegiate chapter's membership or a faculty member who is a member in good standing of Eta Sigma Gamma. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which names a national Gamman of the Year. This individual receives a cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. More Info
Honor Award
This award may be presented to individuals or organizations that have made major contributions to the health education profession through service, education, and/or research. It is the highest award give by Eta Sigma Gamma. Both members and non-members are eligible for this award. It is not necessarily an annual award, and can be presented by the National Honor Society (as decided by the National Board of Directors) or a collegiate chapter (as determined by the local chapter). The national award is known as the Eta Sigma Gamma Honor Award, and the local award is known as the Eta Sigma Gamma ____ Chapter Honor Award. An appropriate symbol of this award should be given to the recipient. More Info
John P. McGovern, M.D National Scholarship Award
Each year graduate student members have the opportunity to present their qualifications to be awarded the McGovern Scholarship. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which names a deserving recipient. This individual receives a cash award and an appropriate certificate at the Annual Meeting. More Info
Outstanding Faculty Sponsor of the Year Award
Each year, chapters have the opportunity to nominate their faculty sponsor as the Outstanding Faculty Sponsor of the Year Award. Criteria is based on length of service as a faculty sponsor, evidence of exceptional leadership for the local chapter, and mentoring of students. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee, which names a deserving recipient. An appropriate symbol of this award will be given to the recipient. More Info
Scholarship Key Award
Each year, collegiate chapters have the opportunity to present the Scholarship Key to any graduating member of the Honor Society who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average among local members, in accordance with the provisions as described in the Officer's Handbook. Applications are reviewed by the local Awards Committee, which names a deserving recipient and presents the Key and an appropriate certificate.. More Info
W.E. Schaller Presidential Citation
This award is presented by the National President to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the profession. An appropriate symbol of this award will be given to the recipient.
